Faucaria

The genus Faucaria is amongst the most interesting in the Mesemb family, Also known as Tiger’s jaws, plants in the genus are small and compact with triangular leaves, often edged with teeth like those of a tiger, hence the common name. The flowers are large in comparison with the plants and are yellow in colour except for the special F. candida which has white flowers. There is high degree of variability among species and even within localities and the Genus requires a thorough taxonomic revision. Faucaria is very easy to grow and is well suited to small container and makes excellent windowsill plants.
